the Alberta Wildlife Federation

Let your child embark on their journey with five distinct camp themes to choose from!
Open and welcoming to kids in Edmonton and the surrounding area, our camps offer the perfect opportunity to explore the outdoors all year round.
Each camp provides ample opportunities to spend time outdoors, exploring the Edmonton River Valley, while gaining invaluable and transferable skills, knowledge, and connections, all while staying physically active. Kids will bond with others their age in a positive environment, learning to participate in outdoor activities in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner—skills that can be carried forward to other areas of their lives.

Do you like building your own shelter? Do you like foraging for food? You might have what it takes to conquer the Firelight Frontier! This week, our campers will focus on wilderness survival and independence in the wild. Campers can look forward to edible plant identification, water filtration, shelter building and orienteering. Embrace the pioneer lifestyle with fire making, safety and bushcraft alongside your fellow survivalists. Put your survival skills to the test and forge a new frontier!

It’s a bird! It's a plane! No, it’s Aerial Adventurers week! Take learning to new heights with a week dedicated to the incredible world above us. Aerial Adventurers invites campers to explore birds, bugs, weather, and the skies through engaging outdoor activities and interactive discovery. Campers will learn about Edmonton’s amazing bird species through sound and sight identification, investigate how animals use the air to survive, and uncover the science behind flight and weather patterns. If it is found in nature and flies, we will learn about it!
Earth Enthusiasts

Get ready to unearth Edmonton! Earth Enthusiasts will dig a little deeper to appreciate the environment around them, focusing on plants, soils, and ecosystem relationships. Campers can look forward to days filled with flower pressing, nature walks, and sustainable crafts. Their understanding and appreciation for the natural beauty around them will grow through fun and new friendships. From petals to pathways, every adventure helps campers uncover the magic hidden in nature.

Dive into a week of discovery along Edmonton’s waterways. Water Wanderers won’t be afraid toget a little wet as they adventure through diverse aquatic ecosystems. Campers will learn about aquatic habitats, fish and wildlife, and the importance of protecting our natural resources. Our program will focus on water safety and conservation through memorable experiences and hands-on activities. Get ready to make a splash as you explore the wonders of the River Valley!
